BAND REHEARSALS & MEMBERSHIP

Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 pm. During fall and winter months we rehearse at Grace Episcopal Church (see directions to the church below). At the beginning of May we rehearse at Burnett Woods (in Clifton). Please go to our CONTACT page for names and phone numbers of people who can help get you there or meet you there.

INDOOR REHEARSAL LOCATION (Fall and Winter)
Grace Episcopal Church is on 5501 Hamilton Avenue, just north of Northside in College Hill, at the intersection of Belmont and Hamilton. This is just a few miles up from Jacobs/Crazy Ladies, on the same side (west) of the street.

From I-75 you may wish to take Reagan/Cross County Highway west, Galbraith Road Exit, Galbraith Road west, go about 4-5 miles, then south (left) on Hamilton, and Church is appx 2 miles south on right. FOR A CLOSE-UP MAP CLICK HERE.

There are two parking lots in the back, plus street parking. Enter from the Belmont Street side (fyi, this is the same location of MCC (Metropolitan Community Church). Please be sure to check this website for any changes to rehearsal times and / or locations, in general.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST VISIT YOU NEED TO KNOW
There are no auditions. Please email us ahead of time to make sure we have music prepared for you.

MEMBERSHIP
We prefer you are able to read music.

Members are 21 and older. Special allowances may be made for those younger on a case-by-case basis.

Try to bring a music stand or instrument music lyre.

You need to own your own instrument, or make arrangements to rent one. We may have a lead on a loaned instrument or a special rental arrangement, so talk to us about larger or unusual instruments.

If you have not played in years, don’t worry! Our musicians have a wide range of skills. Many are having fun while catching up on their music skills, or even learning new instruments.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Two musical rehearsals and one marching rehearsal are required prior to a parade. Requirements for participation in a concert are TBD.

There may be occasional fees for the uniform or membership dues. Most fees are covered by our fundraising.

COLOR GUARD REHEARSALS & MEMBERSHIP
Our color guard practices every Wednesday night from 7 pm to 9 pm (along with the band).

COLOR GUARD EXPECTATIONS
Color guard must buy their own flags and equipment.

Color guard members must be 21 and older. Special allowances may be made for those younger on a case-by-case basis.

There are no auditions; you only have to be able to walk a parade course.

Contact us several days ahead of time.

There are some costs for the uniform.

Our color guard members are women and men of all ages. Experience levels range from those who have extensive background with their high school flag corps to others who just picked up a flag pole for the first time. All are highly enthusiastic.

OTHER PERFORMANCE GROUPS
We welcome individuals who would like to create another ensemble or performance group which would be a part of the qcrb. Let us know your ideas!
